Job summary

Transdev in Fairfax County is seeking a Chief Supervisor to assist the General Manager in daily location functions. This customer service–oriented role emphasizes safety and effective supervision of Field Services, Dispatch, BOCC, Operations, and Station Services.

The Chief Supervisor will lead staff, manage schedules, and ensure compliant, on-time transit service. The position requires a high school diploma (or equivalent), a valid CDL A or B with Passenger endorsement, and a proven safety

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CDL A or B with Passenger endorsement required.
• Excellent safety and service record desired.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all departments.

Responsibilities

• Lead supervisor in day-to-day management of assigned area (Field Services, Dispatch, BOCC, Operations, Station Services).
• Oversee operations functions and daily fixed route service management.
• Ensure compliance with laws governing transit services and communicate with relevant authorities.
• Manage and report daily KPI metrics to the General Manager.
• Coordinate staff scheduling and enforce policies; apply progressive discipline when needed.
• Assist in overseeing customer complaints and ensure timely resolutions.
• Manage vehicle issues and restore or maintain service after disruptions.
• Conduct ride and pre-trip checks to evaluate operator efficiency.
