Job summary

Hampton Roads Transit seeks a Transportation Supervisor to lead the movement of public transit vehicles by supervising operators, dispatchers, and support staff. You will monitor the CAD/AVL system, field alarms, and schedule adherence while directing radio dispatching and incident response.

You will enforce safety rules, coordinate with city officials, and drive continuous service improvements. A CDL B, 5 years transit exp., and an associate degree are preferred for consideration.

Qualifications

• Five years transit experience and/or equivalent.
• One year or equivalent experience in radio dispatching.
• Three years experience in supervisory/management capacity.
• CDL Class B license (and ability to acquire with 60 days).
• Preferred completion of Associate Degree in Business Management or related field.

Responsibilities

• Supervise transit operators, dispatchers, and support personnel.
• Monitor CAD/AVL, system messages, alarms, and schedule adherence.
• Coordinate with maintenance, safety, and operations to ensure service reliability.
• Enforce rules, policies, and procedures; investigate complaints and incidents.
• Prepare documentation for audits and regulatory reviews.
