Job summary

Lane Transit District in Eugene, Oregon seeks an experienced fleet maintenance supervisor to lead a diverse crew responsible for the daily upkeep, servicing, and detailing of 100+ transit buses and 30+ non-revenue vehicles. You will plan work, assign tasks, monitor safety, and drive maintenance standards with a focus on efficiency and cost control.

You will develop maintenance programs, manage records, supervise recruitment and performance reviews, and ensure compliance with contracts,

Qualifications

Six (6) years of progressively responsible transit vehicle maintenance experience.
At least two (2) years of supervisor experience.
Associates degree in Applied Science or equivalent in automotive/diesel tech or related field.
Demonstrated experience developing operation manuals, policies, and procedures.

Responsibilities

Plan, assign, and supervise maintenance and repair of a diverse fleet including gasoline, diesel, diesel/hybrid, and battery electric buses and support vehicles.
Inspect equipment, prepare work orders, estimate time and materials, and set repair priorities.
Maintain maintenance records, analyze data, and help develop divisional policies and plans.
Develop and schedule preventative maintenance programs and update procedures.
Monitor and manage maintenance data in the system and ensure contract and safety compliance.
Participate in personnel selection, provide coaching, and conduct performance evaluations.
Lead a multi-functional team, conduct shift meetings, and communicate updates to stakeholders.
