Job summary

The City of Eugene is seeking a Fleet Supervisor to plan, organize, and supervise maintenance activities for the City Fleet shop. This role includes preventive maintenance, safety program oversight, and ensuring quality in service for municipal vehicles and equipment.

Candidate should have strong supervisory experience, knowledge of fleet operations, and budgeting skills. The position is based in Eugene with standard weekday hours and potential after-hours on-call for emergencies.

Qualifications

• Five years of increasingly responsible experience in field maintenance, fleet maintenance, and/or parks maintenance operations, including two years of supervisory responsibility or four years of responsible lead worker experience.
• Experience in supervising maintenance staff and coordinating fleet service activities.
• Knowledge of safety programs and compliance with city policies.
• Familiarity with equipment specifications, procurement processes, and budgeting.

Responsibilities

• Plans, prioritizes, assigns, supervises, and reviews the work of staff involved in fleet maintenance activities.
• Supervise the City's equipment maintenance facilities and oversee preventative maintenance and repair of municipal equipment.
• May participate in capital development and improvement projects and assist in evaluating bids and contracts.
• Recommends and implements goals, schedules, budgets, and policies for fleet operations.
• Responsible for selection, supervision, and evaluation of staff, training, and performance.
• Coordinates section activities with other departments and agencies; may supervise contractors.
