Job summary

HNTB is seeking an experienced DB Design Manager (Transit) to lead teams on major transit projects. This officer-level role requires extensive collaboration with contractors and a proven track record of delivering mega programs.

The position supports HNTB’s growth in the Design Build Organization, involves travel to project offices, and demands strong leadership in staffing, budgeting, and client satisfaction across multiple high-value pursuits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and 12 years of relevant experience, including 6 years of experience successfully managing and delivering mega and/or super mega projects.
• PE certification and DBIA certification preferred.
• Experience leading design-build transit projects and collaborating with contractors.

Responsibilities

• Develops and nurtures key client relationships and is the primary company contact on assigned projects.
• Responsible for financial performance on projects. Proactive management of cash, budget, schedule and project scope to ensure adherence to project goals and client satisfaction.
• Sets priorities, obtains commitments, and staffs projects according to the project Work Plan.
• Collaborates with office and division leadership to solve challenges and meet objectives.
• Supervises and mentors team to achieve project objectives and oversees Project Manager(s).
• Leads pursuits of super mega projects and prepares proposals and presentations for clients.
