Job summary

HNTB is seeking a senior Design Manager (Transit) to lead teams on nationally significant transit projects. The role requires extensive collaboration with contractors and a successful track record in design management for large-scale programs. Travel to project offices is expected.

The position focuses on delivering quality work on time, on budget, and to client satisfaction. Ideal candidates hold a relevant bachelor’s degree with 12 years of experience (including 6 in mega projects), and

Qualifications

12 years of relevant experience including 6 years of managing and delivering mega or super mega projects.
Master’s degree preferred.
Professional Engineer (PE) certification in multiple states including California.
Successful experience as a Design Manager on multiple Design-Build transit projects.
DBIA certification and PMP certification are preferred.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain key client relationships; act as the primary company contact on assigned projects.
Manage financial performance: cash, budget, schedule and scope to meet goals and client satisfaction.
Set priorities and staff projects by coordinating with Group Directors and Managers to staff according to the Work Plan.
Collaborate with office/division leadership to solve challenges and meet business objectives.
Supervise and mentor project staff; oversee Project Manager(s); support performance reviews and compensation discussions.
Lead pursuit activities for mega and super mega projects; coordinate with Client Service Leaders and marketing to prepare proposals and presentations.
