Job summary

RailWorks Corporation in New York is seeking a Catenary Engineer to manage the catenary portion of complex construction projects, from execution and scheduling to supervision and quality control.

The role requires coordinating staff, ensuring compliance with transit agency specs, and delivering on-time project performance; eligibility includes a Civil/EE degree and 5+ years in catenary systems, with MTA/Amtrak/LIRR experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience with catenary systems.
• Experience with MTA/Amtrak/LIRR catenary work preferred.
• Knowledge of Amtrak Northeast Corridor in NYC is a plus.
• Familiar with design-build projects and field surveys.

Responsibilities

• Review design-unit packages to determine timelines, staffing, and resources.
• Ensure compliance with transit agency specs and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate field conditions with design drawings and flag constructability issues.
• Monitor subcontractor field installations and maintain documentation.
• Lead meetings to communicate project requirements and progress.
• Supervise activities to maintain schedules and budgets; take corrective actions.
• Provide on-site guidance to administrative and technical staff.
• Maintain quality control and productivity on-site.
• Review technical calculations for catenary systems.
• Oversee CAD staff and construction drawings from design plans.
• Be available for day and night shifts to support field work.
