Job summary

IonQ, Inc. is seeking a senior attorney to lead its Transactions function, reporting to the Deputy General Counsel and Chief IP Counsel.

The role builds and scales a transactions practice supporting development, partnerships, supply chain, commercial, and government engagements. The successful candidate will be a trusted subject-matter expert with strong client-management skills and the ability to operate in a fast-paced, business-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to draft and negotiate complex commercial contracts.
• Strong relationship-building with demanding business stakeholders.
• Ability to build templates, playbooks, and risk frameworks.
• Experience leading a high-volume transactional function.

Responsibilities

• Lead agreement drafting and negotiations on business-critical transactions with IP, technology, and regulatory issues.
• Develop templates, negotiation standards, playbooks, processes, and risk frameworks.
• Partner cross-functionally to standardize the deal process from initial discussions to signing.
• Ensure templates reflect current objectives and legal obligations.
• Act as embedded member of business teams, providing timely guidance and commercially oriented counsel.
• Manage a high-volume transactional workload in a deadline-driven environment.
• Oversee other transactional attorneys and allocate workload.
• Serve as senior escalation point for complex transactions and drive resolution.
