Job summary

American Structurepoint, Inc. in Columbus, OH is seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to join our Ohio Traffic Group. You will provide technical leadership on traffic operations, safety, planning, and design projects for ODOT and other clients across Ohio.

The ideal candidate is an Ohio-licensed PE with progressive traffic experience who can lead assignments, communicate with clients and teams, and mentor junior engineers while delivering high-quality studies and designs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Ohio or eligible for reciprocity within six months.
• Minimum of 6 years of progressive traffic/transportation engineering experience.
• Experience leading traffic engineering assignments for ODOT, municipalities, counties, MPOs, or similar agencies.
• Familiarity with MUTCD/OMUTCD, AASHTO, and FHWA guidance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and perform traffic engineering assignments for Ohio projects.
• Oversee analyses using Synchro/SimTraffic, HCS, SIDRA, VISSIM, or TransModeler.
• Develop intersection and corridor improvement concepts and traffic signal design.
• Lead QA/QC reviews to ensure accuracy and quality of deliverables.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams across roadway, planning, structures, and environmental groups.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers and staff.
