Job summary

Nubank is seeking a Senior Infrastructure/Platform Engineer to drive reliability, scalability and security for its traffic management platform. You will shape the service mesh, improve observability, and enable product teams to ship quickly without sacrificing stability.

You will own end-to-end platform projects, collaborate across engineering and product teams, and apply AI-first approaches to automate and optimize operations.

Qualifications

• Experience operating large-scale, high-performance distributed systems in the cloud.
• Hands-on with Kubernetes-based infrastructure and IaC tooling.
• Uses AI as part of daily engineering workflow to investigate issues and automate work.
• Led infrastructure projects from design to production go-live.
• Experience with service-mmesh technologies (Istio/Envoy/Linkerd).
• Experience with AWS networking and compute primitives (ALB/NLB, VPC, Route 53).
• Proficient with Pulumi or Terraform to safely manage changes.

Responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end milestones on the traffic platform, from problem definition to rollout.
• Analyze options and trade‑offs balancing reliability, performance and security.
• Ensure stability by designing for failure, adding tests and observability; handle incidents.
• Collaborate with engineers, product and partner teams to translate needs into technical plans.
• Use AI to investigate issues, review code, and automate repetitive work with safe workflows.
• Create and maintain runbooks and documentation to help others operate the platform.
• Mentor peers through feedback, code reviews, and design discussions.
• Participate in on‑call routines and drive medium‑term improvements.
