Job summary

Nubank is seeking a senior engineer to own the traffic management platform, ensuring reliability, scalability, and security across our services. You will shape service-mesh strategies, Observability, and incident response while collaborating with product and partner teams to deliver robust traffic routes.

You will leverage AI tools to investigate issues, write and review code, and automate repetitive tasks, helping the squad adopt safe AI workflows. Strong IaC experience is required.

Qualifications

• Experience operating large-scale, high-performance distributed systems in the cloud with load balancers, TLS/mTLS, and routing.
• Experience with Kubernetes-based infrastructure and IaC tooling, defining manifests and deployment strategies.
• Uses AI in daily engineering workflows to investigate issues, write code, and automate repetitive work with safety.
• Led end-to-end infrastructure projects from design to production go-live and post-rollout stabilization.
• Experience with Istio or similar service-mesh tech for traffic policies and observability.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end milestones on the traffic platform from definition to rollout and follow-up.
• Analyze complex problems and propose reliable, secure, high-performance solutions.
• Ensure stability and quality with tests, observability, and incident handling.
• Collaborate with engineers, product and partner teams to translate needs into technical milestones.
• Create and maintain technical docs and runbooks for the traffic platform.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews and design discussions.
