Job summary

RETTEW is seeking a Senior Traffic Engineer | Technical Lead to guide the technical delivery of traffic engineering projects within our Transportation team. You will lead analyses, mentor staff, and coordinate with clients, PennDOT, and agencies to deliver data-informed solutions.

This hybrid role in Pennsylvania offers in-office collaboration with remote work flexibility, opportunities to influence standards, and growth across project delivery and client relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Active Professional Engineer license in Pennsylvania or ability to obtain PA licensure.
• At least eight years of progressive professional experience in traffic engineering.
• Experience leading technical delivery or review of traffic engineering work.
• Experience with traffic operations, traffic impact, signal, corridor, safety, or access analyses.
• Experience using traffic analysis/simulation software (Synchro/SimTraffic, HCS, VISSIM, or similar).
• Ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients and teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and review traffic engineering analyses, studies, designs, and deliverables.
• Establish technical approaches and supervise complex analyses.
• Mentor staff and contribute to technical standards and templates.
• Coordinate with PennDOT, municipalities, and agencies.
• Support proposals, scope development, and client relationships.
• Ensure compliance with standards and project requirements.
