Job summary
RETTEW is seeking a Senior Traffic Engineer | Technical Lead to guide the technical delivery of traffic engineering services within our Transportation team in Pennsylvania. This role blends hands-on analysis with leadership across projects, teams, and client relationships.
You will lead traffic impact studies, signal designs, corridor analyses, and safety evaluations, mentor staff, and help shape technical standards while collaborating with PennDOT and municipalities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Active Professional Engineer license in Pennsylvania, or an active PA license obtainable elsewhere.
- Eight+ years of progressive experience in traffic engineering.
- Experience leading technical delivery or review of traffic engineering work.
- Experience in traffic operations, traffic impact, signal, corridor, safety, or related assignments.
- Experience using traffic analysis software such as Synchro/SimTraffic, HCS or VISSIM.
Responsibilities
- Guide the technical delivery of traffic engineering assignments.
- Establish technical approaches and oversee complex analyses.
- Review project deliverables and ensure standards compliance.
- Collaborate with Project Managers, engineers, clients and agencies.
- Mentor staff and contribute to proposals and strategic pursuits.
