Job summary

RETTEW is seeking an experienced Roadway Engineer III to join our Transportation team. The role focuses on taking ownership of roadway design and project delivery, including PennDOT projects, and mentoring junior staff.

You will perform design, analysis, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams, applying PennDOT standards and professional engineering best practices. The position is hybrid with opportunities for growth toward PE licensure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• EIT certification required; PE license preferred.
• Experience in roadway/transportation design and PennDOT projects.
• Proficiency with CAD and transportation-design software.
• Ability to independently perform roadway engineering and design tasks.
• Experience preparing plans, calculations, reports, and estimates.

Responsibilities

• Lead roadway design and analysis for assigned projects.
• Develop roadway plans, alignments, profiles, and cross sections.
• Prepare and review calculations, drawings, and construction docs.
• Apply judgment to develop practical design solutions.
• Use CAD software to deliver high-quality outputs.
• Coordinate with project teams and stakeholders.
• Support scope, schedule, budgets, and proposals.
• Perform QA/QC reviews and field involvement as needed.
