Job summary

RETTEW is seeking a Senior Traffic Engineer | Technical Lead to join our Transportation team in Pittsburgh, PA. The role focuses on guiding technical delivery, mentoring staff, and expanding client relationships across projects.

Ideal candidates bring eight+ years in traffic engineering, PE licensure, and experience with traffic operations, signal design, and related analyses. Hybrid work in multiple PA locations is available.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
Active Professional Engineer license in Pennsylvania, or eligible for PA licensure.
At least eight years in traffic engineering.
Experience leading the technical delivery or review of traffic engineering work.
Experience in traffic operations, traffic impact, signal, corridor, safety, or related assignments.
Experience using traffic analysis software such as Synchro/SimTraffic, HCS, or VISSIM.

Responsibilities

Lead and review traffic engineering analyses, studies, designs, and deliverables.
Mentor staff and guide projects through technical challenges.
Develop practical, data-informed recommendations for traffic operations, mobility, and safety.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, clients, and agencies throughout project delivery.
Establish technical approaches and ensure adherence to standards and requirements.
Contribute to proposals, strategic pursuits, and the growth of RETTEW’s traffic engineering services.
