Hanson Professional Services, Inc. in Illinois seeks a Traffic Engineer with 6+ years of transportation engineering experience to join our growing team. The role involves traffic analyses, design studies, and collaboration with clients and project managers.

Illinois PE license (or ability to obtain within 6 months) is required, with Peoria or Springfield offices preferred. The position includes a $5,000 signing bonus and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in civil engineering or related field required.
• 6+ years of transportation or traffic engineering experience.
• Current Illinois Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• PTOE certification desirable.

Responsibilities

• Complete traffic simulation models, intersection and interchange design studies, engineering reports, and traffic signal/ITS design.
• Perform traffic analyses and studies such as traffic forecasting, travel demand modeling, traffic impact analysis, capacity analysis, operational analysis, warrant analysis, speed studies, trip generation, O-D studies, benefit-cost analysis, feasibility studies, and crash analysis.
• Monitor progress of traffic engineering tasks on active projects, ensuring production requirements, QA/QC, and project expectations are met.
• Collaborate with project managers, senior technical staff, and other disciplines to execute significant projects across the country.
• Provide technical support for project proposals, presentations, and interviews.
• Assist in the development of project scopes, budgets, and schedules.
