Job summary

Hanson Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Chief Traffic Engineer to lead QA/QC reviews, supervise traffic analysis and design, and advise clients nationwide. The role drives technical leadership, staff development, and business-marketing support for proposals and projects.

Full-time position with a $10,000 signing bonus. Flexible hours may be considered for highly qualified candidates. Illinois PE license preferred or obtainable within 6 months.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Civil Engineering or related degree required.
• Typically 15+ years of traffic engineering and analysis experience.
• Current Illinois PE license or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• IDOT and IL Tollway experience preferred.
• PTOE certification desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead QA/QC reviews of traffic simulation models, intersection and interchange design studies, engineering reports, and traffic signal/ITS design documents.
• Monitor the quality and progress of traffic engineering tasks on active projects, ensuring production requirements and project expectations are met.
• Collaborate with project managers, senior technical staff, and other disciplines to execute significant projects across the country.
• Lead traffic and transportation engineering analysis and design tasks and serve as a senior technical advisor to clients.
• Help recruit, mentor, and develop traffic engineering staff across multiple office locations.
