Job summary

Hanson Professional Services, Inc. in Illinois seeks a Chief Traffic Engineer to lead our dynamic traffic engineering discipline. You will guide QA/QC reviews of traffic models, oversee analyses for interchanges, and mentor staff across offices.

Strong client collaboration and senior technical advisory roles are central to this position. We require 15+ years of traffic engineering experience, a PE license (IL or ability to obtain in 6 months), and proficiency with HCM/MUTCD/PROWAG.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in civil engineering or related degree.
• 15+ years of traffic engineering and analysis experience.
• Current Illinois PE license or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• IDOT and IL Tollway experience preferred.
• PTOE certification desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead QA/QC reviews of traffic analysis and design studies.
• Oversee traffic engineering tasks across multiple projects.
• Mentor staff and recruit across offices.
• Support development of project scopes, budgets, and schedules.
• Provide technical support for proposals and client presentations.
