Job summary

Wilson & Company, Inc., Engineers and Architects seeks a Senior Traffic Engineer to join our Midwest transportation team in Wichita, KS. You will lead traffic design, safety evaluations, and multimodal facility analyses for state and local agency clients.

The role emphasizes project management, business development, and mentorship of junior staff, with opportunities across varied project types including design-build.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; Master's degree is a plus but not required.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in MO, KS, or NE, or ability to obtain licensure within six months.
• PTOE and/or RSP Levels 1 or 2 preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years in traffic engineering and design.
• Proficiency in simulation software (Synchro, VISSIM), GIS, and CAD.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage traffic design and traffic operation projects.
• Provide design oversight for roadway lighting, signing, pavement markings, signals, and ITS designs.
• Develop technical traffic analyses for highways, streets, and multimodal facilities.
• Oversee MOT and sequencing plans during construction.
• Perform traffic safety analyses and Road Safety Audits.
• Oversee project budgets, schedules, and QA/QC.
• Support proposals and client relationship development.
• Mentor junior staff and foster collaboration.
• Lead and contribute to team through effective communication.
