Wilson & Company, Inc., Engineers & Architects is seeking a full-time Senior Traffic Engineer to join our Midwest transportation planning and engineering team. This role will lead traffic design projects, safety evaluations, and multimodal facility analysis for state and local agency clients, with opportunities to work on a variety of project types including design-build.

The ideal candidate brings a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering, a PE license (or eligibility within six months), and 10+ years

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; Master’s degree is a plus but not required.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in MO, KS, and NE, or eligible within six months.
• PTOE and/or RSP Levels 1 or 2 certifications preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years in traffic engineering and design.
• Proficiency with Synchro, VISSIM, GIS, and CAD (MicroStation/AutoCAD).
• Familiarity with MUTCD and AASHTO standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage traffic design and operation projects with oversight on roadway lighting, signing, signals, and MOT plans.
• Perform traffic safety analyses, including RSAs, and propose countermeasures.
• Oversee project budgets, schedules, and QA/QC in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
• Assist in business development, proposals, and client relationships.
• Mentor junior staff and promote teamwork and company initiatives.
