Job summary

Wilson & Company is seeking a full-time Senior Traffic Engineer to join our Midwest transportation planning and engineering team. This role will lead traffic design projects, safety evaluations, and multimodal facility analyses for state and local agencies. Opportunity to work on design-build projects.

Required: 10+ years in traffic engineering, PE license in MO/KS/NE or ability to obtain within six months, and proficiency with Synchro, VISSIM, GIS, and CAD. PTOE or RSP preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; Master’s degree is a plus.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Missouri, Kansas, and Nebraska, or ability to obtain licensure within six months.
• PTOE and/or Road Safety Professional (RSP) Levels 1 or 2 preferred.
• 10+ years in traffic engineering and design.
• Proficient with Synchro, VISSIM, GIS, CAD; familiar with MUTCD and AASHTO.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage traffic design and traffic operation projects; provide design oversight for lighting, signing, pavement markings, signals; ITS systems.
• Develop technical traffic analysis for highways, streets, and multimodal facilities.
• Oversee MOT and sequencing plans during construction.
• Assist in proposals, marketing, and client relationship building.
• Mentor junior staff and foster a collaborative environment.
