Job summary

AECOM seeks a Senior Traffic Engineer – Supervising Traffic Engineer based in the Bay Area or Sacramento, CA. Lead traffic studies for California projects and support West Coast initiatives with strong communication to clients, staff, and the public.

Qualifications include CA PE license or ability to obtain in 6 months, and experience with Caltrans, transportation planning, modeling, and multimodal projects. Proficiency with Synchro/SimTraffic, VISSIM, and AutoCAD is preferred.

Qualifications

• BA/BS required with 6+ years of relevant experience or equivalent.
• CA PE license or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Experience with Caltrans and West Coast projects.
• Strong written and verbal communication for reports and meetings.
• Proficiency in traffic modeling and multimodal planning.

Responsibilities

• Lead traffic studies for CA projects and support West Coast initiatives.
• Provide technical input and mentorship to staff.
• Develop studies, procedures, and cost estimates for PS&E.
• Coordinate with clients, agencies, and the public in meetings.
• Utilize Synchro/SimTraffic, VISSIM, and other tools for analysis.
