Job summary

Econolite is seeking a Senior Traffic Engineer to plan, design, and optimize traffic signal operations for intersections and corridors. You will support Centracs Mobility deployments, develop timing strategies, and provide technical guidance to agency customers.

The role requires strong communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate has 8–15 years in traffic engineering, proficiency with Synchro/SimTraffic/PTV Vissim, and experience with ATMS platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
• 8–15 years of progressive experience in traffic engineering or ITS.
• Experience developing, deploying, and validating traffic signal timing plans for public agencies.
• Proficiency with traffic engineering and simulation software listed in tools.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted technical advisor throughout the project lifecycle.
• Develop, implement, and optimize traffic signal timing plans for intersections, corridors, and regional networks.
• Conduct traffic operations analyses using Centracs Mobility and other tools.
• Evaluate traffic performance and validate improvements through field data and performance measures.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership to project teams.
• Prepare technical documentation and deliverables defining scope and outcomes.
