Job summary

TKDA is seeking a Professional Engineer - Traffic to enhance safety and mobility of transportation systems across Wisconsin and the nation. The role focuses on leading traffic design and operations tasks, coordinating with clients and multidisciplinary teams, and delivering high-quality studies and plans.

Applicants should have a PE or be eligible in Wisconsin, 5+ years in traffic engineering, and proficiency with design and analysis tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering is required.
• Professional Engineer license in Wisconsin or ability to obtain within six months of employment.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in traffic engineering with emphasis in traffic design or operations.
• Desirable certifications: PTOE or RSP or interest in attaining either credential.
• Experience in both traffic operations and traffic design.
• Ability to develop plans, reports, and specifications; strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead traffic engineering tasks related to design and plan development (signing, pavement markings, construction staging, traffic signals, roadway lighting).
• Perform or support traffic operations analyses, safety evaluations, studies, forecasting, and traffic simulation modeling.
• Prepare or oversee plans, specifications, cost estimates, memos, and reports.
• Support client coordination, project delivery, and technical leadership of project teams.
