Job summary

TKDA in Duluth, MN, seeks a Professional Engineer – Traffic to enhance safety and mobility on Minnesota transportation projects and nationwide. Hybrid work schedule with in-office Tue-Thu and WFH Mon/Fri.

Responsibilities include leading design tasks, analyses, and client coordination while growing into management roles. The role requires a PE in MN or ability to obtain within six months and 5+ years in traffic engineering with proficiency in design and operations tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
• Professional Engineer licensed in Minnesota or able to obtain within six months.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in traffic engineering.
• Experience in traffic design or traffic operations with design software proficiency.
• Strong MS Office skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to coordinate with clients and lead project teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead traffic engineering tasks related to design and plan development, including signing, pavement markings, construction staging and temporary traffic control, traffic signals, and roadway lighting.
• Perform or support traffic operations analyses, safety evaluations, traffic studies, forecasting, and traffic simulation modeling.
• Prepare or oversee plans, specifications, cost estimates, technical memoranda, and reports.
• Support client coordination, project delivery, and technical leadership of project teams.
