Job summary

AWP Safety in Chandler, AZ seeks a Senior Protector to manage traffic flow in outdoor work zones, signaling vehicle and pedestrian movement with STOP/SLOW paddles and implementing temporary traffic control plans for safe, efficient site operations.

Qualifications

• Traffic Control Technician (TCT) Certification or 2000+ verifiable hours required.
• High School Diploma or GED completion required.
• Prior experience in temporary traffic control services, utility or construction preferred.
• Excellent verbal and nonverbal communication skills.
• Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office products and CRM systems.
• Must follow safe workplace practices.
• Valid Driver’s License without suspension or revocation.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Willingness to out-of-town work averaging 2 weeks to 2 months.

Responsibilities

• Control movement of vehicular, pedestrian, and bicycle traffic using STOP/SLOW signals.
• Set up and maintain traffic control devices per guidelines and plans.
• Maintain a Flagger Station and communicate with team members.
• Transport equipment and personnel to sites using company vehicle.
• Provide on-the-job training and coaching to Protector personnel.
• Adhere to all safety procedures and report issues promptly.
