Job summary

AWP Safety, Inc in Chandler, AZ is hiring for an entry-level Traffic Control Flagger. You will establish and maintain safe work zones, direct traffic with stop/slow paddles, and support clients with a safety-first approach while growing in a fast-paced team.

This role offers paid training, ATSSA certification, opportunities to advance to lead roles, overtime, PTO, and daily pay. No college degree required; strong work ethic and reliability are valued as you gain field experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• ATSSA Flagger Certification required.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly.
• Stand for 8–12 hours daily.
• Two years outdoor labor experience.
• Willingness to work in various weather and traffic settings.
• Experience driving and passing pre-employment screenings (drug test).
• Read and understand plans/maps; read instructions.
• Flexibility for nights and weekends; reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Establishing and maintaining safe work zones using the proper equipment.
• Collaborating with team members to ensure the safety of all.
• Managing traffic flow effectively with stop/slow paddles.
• Delivering exceptional service and protection to our clients.
• Benefiting from continuous training and support to advance from an entry-level position to long-term career opportunities.
• Set-up barricades/cones and related signage for a safe work zone.
• Drive to and from designated work zones with equipment.
• Document and communicate with dispatch, operations and customers regarding equipment and setup.
• Maintain job sites and equipment to ensure high-quality set-ups and adhere to The AWP Safety Way.
• Read and follow specific plans and instructions; make field adjustments as needed.
