Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join the Markets Tech team focused on Trading/Derivatives Execution.

You will own critical tech solutions across trading platforms, emphasizing reliability, performance, and operational integrity of electronic trading systems. The role involves Python automation, Linux troubleshooting, Grafana observability, and collaboration with trading, tech, and development teams to ensure stable order flow.

Qualifications

5+ years of applied software engineering experience.
Proficiency in Python, C++, Bash, and Grafana.
Experience in DevOps or SRE in low-latency environments.
Knowledge of the FIX protocol.
Strong Linux troubleshooting and command-line skills.
Experience with automation and CI/CD practices.
Experience with AI-assisted development tools and practices.

Responsibilities

Provide daily production support for electronic trading platforms, including FIX sessions and connectivity health.
Monitor system health with Grafana dashboards to improve latency, errors, throughput, and availability.
Lead incident triage, communications, and post-incident reviews.
Develop secure, production-grade code with Python for health checks and workflows.
Collaborate with trading and engineering teams to investigate complex issues and read logs/traces.
Support Kafka on AWS with design of topics, partitions, and security.
