Job summary

JPMorgan Chase is seeking a Lead Software Engineer in the Markets Tech division to advance trading platforms with high reliability and scalable systems. You will operate Kafka on AWS, drive AI-assisted engineering practices, and contribute to secure, resilient delivery.

Qualifications

Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts.
Proficiency in Python, C++, Bash, Grafana or equivalent.
Experience in DevOps/SRE in low-latency, mission-critical environments.
Practical understanding of the FIX protocol.
Strong Linux troubleshooting: logs, processes, diagnostics.
Ability to collaborate across trading, operations and engineering teams.
Experience with AI-assisted development tools and validating AI outputs.

Responsibilities

Provide creative software design, development, and troubleshooting across multiple tech areas.
Deliver daily production support for electronic trading platforms, including FIX sessions and workflow stability.
Monitor health and trading signals using Grafana dashboards to improve latency, errors, and throughput.
Lead incident triage and restoration with clear stakeholder communications.
Perform root cause analysis and implement durable remediation and automation.
Develop secure production code with Python scripts for health checks and automation.
Operate and support Kafka on AWS with topic design, throughput tuning, and security.
