Job summary

JPMorgan Chase in New York invites a Senior Lead Software Engineer to join the Equities Trading Technology Organization. You will be a core technical contributor, building high‑performance, low‑latency trading solutions for global markets.

You will collaborate with quants, traders and technologists across NA, EMEA and APAC to design, implement, test, and maintain an execution platform that is secure, scalable and reliable.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with 5+ years of applied experience.
• Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Proficiency in Java and low-latency, real-time trading systems.
• Experience with high-throughput messaging APIs and middleware.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a global team (NA, EMEA, APAC).
• Experience with algorithmic trading, including systematic trading.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop algo trading strategies and the execution platform.
• Design and develop the simulation environment and maintain automated testing of strategies under staged market conditions.
• Enhance existing strategies to improve performance by reviewing analytics and updating models/signals.
• Support the desk by deep-diving into specific cases to interpret strategy behavior and address issues.
• Develop scalable real-time processing solutions using agile methodologies.
• Identify opportunities to automate remediation to improve stability of software applications and systems.
