U.S. Xpress, Inc. Springfield OH location is seeking an experienced Diesel Technician to diagnose, service, and repair tractors and related components. You will mentor technicians and complete DOT paperwork while maintaining productivity in a busy shop.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, ASE/DOT/AC/break certifications, a valid driver’s license, and your own hand tools. The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and teamwork in a union-free, growth-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Some college or trade school preferred.
• Requires ASE, DOT, AC, and brake certifications.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Must provide own hand tools.
• Good reading and writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Test, service, and repair tractors and related mechanical components.
• Perform in depth diagnostic and repairs on engines, transmission, driveline, HVAC, electrical, suspension, brakes and air systems.
• Mentor and train Tractor Tech I and II as needed.
• Accurately complete DOT forms and all other documentation in timely fashion.
• Drive trucks in and out of shop before and after repairs.
• Maintain a high level of productivity and meet shop time targets.
• Repair/replace bolts on body parts such as hoods and cab extenders.
• Perform DOT inspections as outlined in USX guidelines.
