Job summary

HNTB is seeking a civil/rail design engineer to support a national rail team from our King of Prussia, PA area office. You will contribute to design calculations, reports, and plans, collaborating with project managers to deliver complex rail projects for Amtrak, SEPTA, and other national clients.

The role emphasizes coordinating with multiple disciplines, maintaining schedules, and providing guidance to junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with relevant experience.
• Master’s degree in Engineering with relevant experience.
• PhD in Engineering with relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned work within schedule and hours.
• Assist in development of project specifications.
• Develop discipline-specific engineering deliverables (reports, designs, plans).
• Coordinate and improve productivity of project team members.
• Provide technical guidance to junior staff.
• Collaborate with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.
• Perform quality control reviews of discipline deliverables.
• Assist with scheduling and workload distribution.
