Job summary

GFT is seeking a Senior Track Engineer to join our Transportation Team in Audubon, PA. This role follows a remote or hybrid work model, depending on the candidate's qualifications and experience.

You will lead track design on transit and freight rail projects, work with multi-discipline teams, mentor junior staff, and help maintain client relationships while delivering high‑quality, on‑time designs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• 15+ years of progressive experience in design of major transit/freight rail engineering transportation projects.
• Professional Engineer license required.
• Strong experience working with transit agencies and/or Class 1 Railroads.
• Ability to lead civil/track aspects on multiple assignments.
• Extensive knowledge of OpenRail Designer and Civil3D.
• Proficient with Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Serve as lead Track Engineer on projects.
• Assure that projects are completed within the allocated time and budget.
• Provide team leadership and technical expertise.
• Plan, organize, and supervise the work of junior engineers and technicians on projects.
• Grow and mentor staff, help recruit, and be a positive role model.
• Maintain professional knowledge by attending workshops and reading publications.
• Perform independent reviews of major projects.
