Job summary

Samsung Electronics America, Inc. is seeking a Toolmaker to maintain, repair, and modify mold tooling assets used in our manufacturing operations in Newberry, SC. The role includes disassembly, assembly and repair of injection molds and stamping dies, plus operating typical machine shop equipment.

The successful candidate will work with large tonnage molds, troubleshoot at the press, and mentor PM Techs and Apprentices, applying independent problem solving and strong communication with the team.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent training in machine tool technology.
• 1–7 years toolmaker experience for Level 1–6; 8+ years for Senior Toolmaker.
• Basic machine shop operation and tooling design knowledge.
• Ability to operate overhead crane and forklift.
• Work independently with strong communication and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Disassembly, assembly and repair of injection molds and stamping dies.
• Run machine shop equipment (lathe, milling machine, surface grinder, TIG welder).
• Work with large tonnage injection molds and progressive stamping dies.
• Troubleshoot problems at the press.
• Mentor PM Techs and Apprentices.
