Job summary

Sealed Air, Liquibox division, seeks a Senior Toolmaker to maintain and repair plastic injection molds from single‑cavity to high‑volume tooling. You will troubleshoot, set up, and support production while mentoring junior toolmakers.

The ideal candidate has 2–5 years in mold assembly and repair, expects to operate mills, lathes, EDMs, and hot runner systems, and collaborates across teams to improve tooling performance.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or diploma in Tool & Die, Precision Machining, or related program.
• 2-5 years hands-on experience with plastic injection mold assembly, disassembly, and repair.
• Proficient with toolroom equipment (mills, lathes, grinders, EDM); GD&T understanding.
• Experience with hot runner systems troubleshooting and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Perform precision maintenance, repair, and setup of plastic injection molds.
• Disassemble, clean, and inspect mold components using overhead crane equipment.
• Execute tooling changeovers and setups to meet production specs.
• Troubleshoot defects and dimensional issues in plastic parts via bench work and in-press analysis.
• Operate CNC mills, lathes, EDM machines, and surface grinders to fabricate or repair mold components.
• Maintain and troubleshoot hot runner systems.
• Provide training to junior toolmakers and apprentices.
• Recommend design modifications to improve tooling performance and longevity.
• Support production with responsive troubleshooting and emergency repairs.
