Job summary

Nextpower is seeking a Lead Tool Technician Mechanic in Oklahoma to serve as the senior technical authority for installation tooling, field tool-support programs, and site deployments. You will lead planning, commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance, and continuous improvement of tooling systems across customer sites.

The role requires strong mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and controls skills, with the ability to translate complex information into practical field actions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Technology, Construction Management, Maintenance Technology, or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in installation tooling, construction equipment, or related technical environment.
• Advanced knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and electro-mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Act as senior technical resource for installation tooling and field deployment activities.
• Plan, schedule, and execute delivery, setup, commissioning, calibration, relocation, and demobilization of tool-support workshops and field equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and controls-related problems using schematics and manuals.
• Translate technical information into clear field instructions and corrective actions.
• Create and maintain EH&S documentation including Job Hazard Analyses and safety plans.
• Lead field tool-support activities in partnership with customers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
• Forecast tooling demand, schedules, staffing, and equipment availability with management.
• Provide technical leadership and training on tool setup, safety, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Develop preventive-maintenance guides and inspection checklists.
