Job summary

Honda South Carolina Manufacturing seeks an experienced Tooling Engineer to manage and improve production line productivity and tool-design quality for cutting tools. You will lead budget creation, troubleshoot tooling issues, and coordinate tool development across new models while supporting setup and regrind processes.

The role requires 2–8 years in equipment engineering, strong MS Office, and SolidWorks proficiency, with travel and overtime as needed on a production floor environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical).
• 2-8 years of experience in equipment engineering.
• Strong knowledge of MS Office, AutoCAD 2D/3D, SolidWorks.

Responsibilities

• Lead tool budget creation, control, and analysis to evaluate cutting tool budget.
• Coordinate daily engineering support troubleshooting tooling problems to achieve quality, cost and delivery targets; develop and maintain tools, tool drawings and holder.
• Perform and coordinate tool analysis - documenting and reporting the results for continuous improvement.
• Coordinate the development of cutting tools, tool holders, and machining process for new model, capacity up, and new technology implementation.
• Provide technical support for internal tool setup and tool regrind processes.
• Support line side trial runs during tool test and new models to ensure quality and delivery is achieved.
• Lead collaborative meetings & negotiate with customers/suppliers of all levels & capabilities.
• Communicate and present technical issues and tool reports to audiences of all backgrounds and levels.
• Work with production, new model, machining, product development and other engineering to ensure balanced processing occurs.
• Build mutually beneficial relationships with customers and suppliers.
• Develop, manage and execute Business Plan activities in a timely manner.
