Job summary

magniX in the Pacific Northwest is hiring a Sr. Tool Design Engineer to lead tooling development for in-house manufacturing of electric propulsion systems.

You will design, procure, install, and validate tooling across NPI programs, coordinating with Design, Quality, and Manufacturing to ramp production. The role requires hands-on tooling concept work, GD&T expertise, and experience with Solidworks to interpret models and drawings.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 5 years of tooling design experience in electric motors/aerospace manufacturing or related industry.
• CAD modeling experience with Solidworks preferred.
• Knowledge of assembly processes, rapid prototyping, fabrication, and tool design.
• Proficiency in GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Experience taking tooling from concept through validated hardware with minimal onboarding.

Responsibilities

• Design, procure, install, and validate tooling and equipment.
• Develop and test automated, semi-automated, and manual tooling systems to ramp production.
• Perform tolerance stack-up analysis and apply GD&T to tooling features.
• Participate in design reviews for manufacturability and assembly.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues related to tooling.
