Job summary

magniX, based in the Pacific Northwest and Everett, Washington, seeks a Mechanical Engineer to design and deliver electric powertrain hardware. You will develop detailed CAD models, evaluat e requirements, and produce design packages including drawings, analyses, and test methods for certification readiness.

This role requires a BS in mechanical or aerospace engineering, 5+ years of experience, and hands-on SOLIDWORKS/PDM work; GD&T knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
• 5+ years of relevant work experience.
• Practical experience using 3D CAD (SOLIDWORKS) and PDM systems.

Responsibilities

• Apply aerospace standard design practices to electric aircraft motors and sub-components.
• Conduct trade studies on design and manufacturing options, identify methods for risk reduction and technology development.
• Produce complete design packages – detailed drawings, analysis reports, BOMs, assembly instructions.
• Conduct reviews of designs, manufacturing plans, and test procedures to ensure compliance with design and performance requirements.
• Coordinate with other departments through hardware delivery and operations (Quality, Sourcing, Manufacturing, Testing, etc.).
• Lead resolution of technical problems, achieving buy-in from cross-functional teams.
• Develop a strong understanding of technical and certification requirements for Electric Propulsion Units for aviation.
