Job summary

Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Sr. Tool and Gage Maker in North Berwick, ME, to support aircraft engine tooling. You'll read blueprints, set up and operate precision tools, and calibrate gages, while following strict safety and quality procedures.

This onsite role offers opportunities to contribute to high-precision aerospace manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in tool & gage making or 3+ years with related certs, plus strong math, welding,

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED plus 5+ years in tool & gage making, or 3+ years with related certificate/degree.
• Strong knowledge of advanced shop math (algebra, trig, geometry).
• Ability to use basic hand tools and precision measuring equipment.
• Experience with silver/soft soldering; welding and heat treatment.
• Excellent computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints; lay out tools for machining or inspection.
• Perform machining and repairs on tools, gages, fixtures.
• Set up and operate basic hand tools and precision instruments.
• Ensure fixtures and gages meet specifications.
• Provide technical support to internal and external customers.
• Follow Pratt & Whitney procedures and SAP transactions.
• Calibrate ID/OD gages and compute angles.
• Adhere to safety and ACE initiative guidelines.
• Work flexible shifts including overtime.
