Job summary

Pratt & Whitney is seeking a skilled welder for our 2nd shift to plan and perform hand and machine welding, fabricate and repair components for aerospace applications. You will work from drawings, set up equipment, and verify weld quality with inspection tools. The role requires HS diploma or GED and 1+ year related experience or related certification.

Onsite role with comprehensive benefits. This is a 2nd shift position (Mon-Thu, 3:30pm-1:30am) supporting our operations team in Wells, ME.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED is required.
• 1+ year related experience or a post-secondary certificate in a related field with 0-1+ years experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan and perform hand and/or machine welding to fabricate or repair parts.
• Work from drawings, schedules, and written/verbal instructions.
• Set equipment parameters to obtain quality welds.
• Prepare parts and align components for welding.
• Operate welding equipment and complete welding cycles.
• Use inspection methods to determine repairs needed and finishes.
• Check dimensions with measuring instruments and record results.
• Maintain welding certifications as required.
• May be assigned other tasks as needed.
