Job summary

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems in Saco, ME seeks a Tool & Gage Maker #2 to join the operations team. The role focuses on setting up and operating metalworking equipment, analyzing drawings, and following military specifications to fabricate parts with tight tolerances.

This on-site, full-time position supports DoD-related manufacturing and offers competitive compensation with benefits. Shift is first, based in Saco, Maine.

Qualifications

• Must be knowledgeable of tool steels, alloys and metal properties.
• Must know machine speeds/feeds and threading operations.
• Must be able to read blueprints and tolerances.

Responsibilities

• Performs Rockwell hardness tests and uses precision measuring equipment.
• Maintains precision alignment and squareness during machining operations.
• Sets up tools, determines hole plates and circle divisions to required tolerances.
• Converts decimals to metric measurements as needed.
