Job summary

The Pivot Group Network in East Lansing, MI is seeking experienced Tool and Die Makers to join our manufacturing partner network. This role focuses on designing and building precision dies, tooling, and fixtures for stamping operations.

Candidates should have 5+ years in progressive or similar tooling, the ability to read blueprints and CAD files, and a strong grasp of GD&T; prior experience with CNC machines and metrology is valued. This is a full-time on-site position with competitive pay.

Qualifications

Completion of a formal apprenticeship in Tool and Die Making or equivalent experience.
5+ years of experience in progressive die, compound die, or related tooling fabrication.
Proficiency in interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
Strong understanding of GD&T principles and application.
Experience with precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, CMM).
Ability to operate manual and CNC machining equipment (mills, lathes, grinders, EDM).

Responsibilities

Design and construct precision metal stamping dies, tools, and fixtures.
Operate a variety of machine tools including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and EDM equipment.
Interpret blueprints, schematics, and CAD files to determine dimensions and tolerances.
Perform preventative maintenance and repair on existing dies and tooling to ensure optimal performance.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex tooling issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
Conduct quality inspections of finished tools and dies using precision measuring instruments.
Collaborate with engineers and production personnel to optimize tooling designs for manufacturability and efficiency.
