Job summary

Jobot is seeking a highly skilled Toolmaker with CNC experience to support design, fabrication, and maintenance of precision tooling used in aerospace manufacturing. Work in a low-volume, high-mix environment producing complex tooling, fixtures, and components with tight tolerances and strict quality requirements.

The role involves setting up 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC machines, GD&T interpretation, and in-process and final inspection.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Toolmaker, Tool & Die, or CNC machining experience in a precision environment.
• Proficiency in designing and building dies, as well as repairing old dies.
• Proficiency with Mastercam and SolidWorks.
• Familiarity with stamping press operations.
• Experience machining stainless steel.

Responsibilities

• Build, modify, and repair precision tooling and dies.
• Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and grinders (3/4/5-axis).
• Interpret drawings, GD&T, and specifications for tolerances.
• Plan sequences and tooling for prototype and short-run tooling builds.
• Perform milling, turning, boring, drilling, threading and grinding.
• Conduct inspections with micrometers, calipers, indicators, height gauges and CMM.
• Troubleshoot machining processes and tooling issues.
• Fabricate and adjust custom tooling to improve production efficiency.
• Maintain AS9100 and NADCAP compliance as applicable.
• Document inspection results and shift hand-off notes.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production to improve tooling design.
