Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Miami, FL is seeking a Tool and Die Maker IV for onsite tooling manufacture and repair. You will plan, set up, and operate mills, lathes, grinders, and welding processes to fabricate fixtures, gauges, and tooling per engineering drawings.

The role requires 4+ years in precision machining, knowledge of CNC setup, and the ability to read drawings and use precision measurement tools. Join our machining team and contribute to aerospace tooling excellence.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent with 4+ years in precision manual machining.
• Experience operating mills, lathes, welding stainless steel, and brazing or joining lead components.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and use precision measuring instruments.

Responsibilities

• Plan, set up, and operate manual machine tools to manufacture and repair tooling.
• Perform stainless steel welding, lead brazing/joining, and general metal fabrication.
• Manufacture, assemble, modify tooling, fixtures, and gauges per drawings.
• Read drawings and determine machining and fabrication requirements.
• Set up and operate CNC tools to support tooling manufacturing.
• Inspect completed work using precision measuring equipment for dimensional accuracy.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to troubleshoot tooling and equipment issues.
• Independently plan and execute complex tooling and fabrication assignments.
• Provide technical guidance to less experienced personnel.
• Follow EHS procedures and PPE requirements for machining and welding.
• Maintain equipment and work areas per 5S and maintenance standards.
