Job summary

Collins Aerospace in the US (Miami, FL) seeks an experienced Tool and Die Maker IV for our Landing Gear Repair and Overhaul facility. The role involves hands-on machining, stainless steel welding, brazing, and fabrication of tooling, fixtures, and equipment used in aircraft overhaul operations.

The candidate will read engineering drawings, work with lightweight to heavy tooling, and collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to meet production needs. Onsite role with strong safety focus.

Qualifications

• Typically requires HS diploma or equivalent with 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in precision manual machining including mills, lathes, and other machine shop equipment; welding stainless steel; lead brazing/joining.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and use precision measuring instruments.

Responsibilities

• Plan, set up, and operate manual machine tools to manufacture and repair tooling.
• Perform stainless steel welding and lead brazing/joining to manufacture, modify, and repair tooling and fixtures.
• Read engineering drawings and tighten tolerances per specifications.
• Set up CNC tools as needed and inspect finished work with precision instruments.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Operations to troubleshoot tooling issues and propose improvements.
