Job summary

Broadview FCU is seeking a skilled title examiner to read and interpret real estate and legal documents, ensuring insurable title for buyers and lenders. You will interact with underwriters, negotiate coverage, and guide a team to maintain compliance with NY title insurance standards.

The role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to manage underwriting-related tasks, audits, and regulatory filings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 5–7 years of directly related experience; legal training/experience (attorney or paralegal) preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and able to learn other software as needed.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret real estate and legal documents to prepare title insurance policies.
• Identify restrictions or encumbrances and create clearance requirements for underwriting.
• Work with underwriters and attend continuing education to stay compliant with underwriting guidelines.
• Negotiate policy and endorsement coverage for owners and loans.
• Maintain knowledge of New York title insurance, underwriter guidelines, and real estate practices.
