Job summary

NewGen Technologies in El Segundo, CA seeks a Tier II Network Technician to support DoD-grade data communications, design specs, testing and upgrades for LAN/WAN devices, and to assist Tier III engineers.

The role requires a TS/SCI CI Poly clearance, 10 years of experience or equivalent, DoD 8140 IAT Level 2, and travel up to 20%. Weekend work and L1-L3 experience with Visio/ServiceNow/Confluence are valued.

Qualifications

• TS/SCI CI Poly Clearance.
• 10 years of experience, equal to DoD equivalencies.
• Compliance with DoD 8140 IAT Level 2.
• Willing to travel up to 20%.
• Flexible hours, including weekend support.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Layer 1, Layer 2 and Layer 3 network experience.
• Experience with Visio, ServiceNow and Confluence.

Responsibilities

• Respond to and resolve incidents, communicating with the team.
• Complete tasks within SLOs/SLAs.
• Draft and implement standard network change requests.
• Support Tier III engineers for incident management and projects.
• Perform configuration management and maintain topology drawings.
• Coordinate network operations, maintenance, repairs, or upgrades.
• Configure/troubleshoot VLANs, ports, and layer 2 security.
• Perform IOS upgrades for Cisco, Juniper, Brocade and Foundry OS.
• Possibly handle up to 10% COMSEC responsibilities.
