Zscaler is seeking a Staff Threat Researcher to join our Threat Research Team in a remote capacity. You will apply formal research methodologies to dissect complex cyber attacks, build scalable detections, and translate findings into practical defense capabilities across endpoints, cloud, and identity environments.

You will collaborate with detection engineers, intelligence analysts, and threat hunters, mentoring peers while shaping product strategy and detection priorities to keep customers

Qualifications

• Foundational understanding of AI/ML technologies.
• Experience with EDR and cloud-based detection platforms.
• Proficient in scripting language (PowerShell, Python) and at least one compiled language (C/C++, Go).
• Security experience in one cloud provider (AWS/GCP/Azure) and cloud architectures.
• Public community engagement (conference talks, blogs, webinars).
• Git/GitHub experience for version control.

Responsabilités

• Scope and refine research initiatives across OS and major Cloud/SaaS providers.
• Analyze threats to understand adversaries' techniques and detection data.
• Engineer automated attack code and develop proofs of concept for detections.
• Collaborate with detection engineers, analysts, and threat hunters to prioritize deliverables.
• Document findings and mentor colleagues pursuing research.
