Job summary

Zscaler is seeking a Principal Threat Researcher for a remote role. You will serve as a SME on adversary behavior across Endpoint and Cloud environments, translating complex threat research into scalable detection recommendations that shape product strategy and engineering priorities.

You will dissect techniques, develop proofs of concept, and mentor colleagues while collaborating with detection engineers and analysts to protect a global customer base.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of security research with actionable outcomes.
• Foundational understanding of AI/ML technologies in security.
• Extensive security expertise in at least one OS with EDR experience.
• Security experience in at least one cloud service provider (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Software development in scripting and a compiled language.
• Experience managing code with Git/GitHub.

Responsibilities

• Scope and refine research initiatives across OS and Cloud environments.
• Investigate attack techniques and detection data sources to understand adversaries.
• Engineer automated attack code and write test code to validate coverage.
• Collaborate across teams to develop new detection methodologies and recommendations.
• Document findings and mentor junior team members.
